Ten years ago, when I decided to leave GlaxoWellcome to create Diverchim, outsourcing of Discovery (R&D) was only in its infancy in Europe and many were sceptical of the success of this initiative. Today outsourcing of Drug Discovery is commonplace and Diverchim has become the leading French CRO in chemistry in life sciences in less than 10 years.

Today, we have to recognize that a large part of outsourcing is driven solely by financial considerations. We believe this to be shortsighted. At Diverchim, we are convinced that the cultivation of innovation and creativity in highly motivated teams is the key to tomorrow’s success. To us, “serendipity” is not a vain word. We strive to maintain the pioneering spirit and the encouragement of curiosity. Recently, such an approach has been adopted by one of the large multinational pharmaceutical companies.
